Transportation is the life's blood of any economy, and Minnesota's is on life support. Due to GOP intransigence, our transportation system is rapidly approaching obsolescence. The entire transportation discussion in this state, and Dakota County, is stuck in a 1955 time warp. That must end MN Dot designers, engineers and road crews are doing the best with what they are given, but it is wholly inadequate. And that doesn't even touch bridges. Minnesota's transportation system is in desperate need of investment if our state is to remain competitive.

Our regional competition, Denver, Atlanta, Houston, Salt Lake City, even St. Louis, these are metropolitan areas that are moving aggressively into a modern, multi-modal future. We will be left behind unless we act now.
